How to obtain a library card?
If you are over 13 years of age: need to see photo I.D./student I.D. with your current address on it. If your address is not current, we would need to see a piece of mail addressed to you with your current address on it. Library card is issued instantly and ready for use.
If you are under 13 years of age: you need to have a parent/guardian with you at time of registration to verify who you are and to sign your application. Library card is issued instantly and ready for use.
How long can I borrow my materials for?
Most books are on a 21 day loan. New releases are on a 14 day loan. DVDs and videos are on a 7 day loan. Most can be renewed if no one is holding for them.
How do I renew my books/movies/CDs/magazines?
You may renew your materials at the NIOGA: My Library Card website, call the library at 589-4246 or simply visit the main floor circulation desk.
I am looking for a specific author, subject and title where do I go to find them?
You may visit the NIOGA Catalog and conduct your specific search, call the library at 589-4246 or simply visit the main floor circulation desk. Newspapers, NIOGA Member Libraries and Databases will also be helpful in serving you.
What computer services do you offer?
We currently have 6 PC computers that are open to all patrons with a library card in good standing (fines under $5.00). The computers have all major programs loaded on them such as, MS Word, PrintShop and MS Explorer. All computers operate on Microsoft Windows XP. Internet utilizes Road Runner for optimum speed for all your tasks. The library has a Black & White laser printer which all computers are connected to. Print outs are 5 cents each. Computer Lab users have a maximum of 90 minutes per day at their computer terminal. There is always a helpful library assistant monitoring the lab and to help you with simple task navitating. Do you offer Home Delivery Services?
If you are ill, disabled or simply can’t get to the library for any reason, Swan Library will come to you. All you need to do is apply for a library card, (if you don’t already have one) over the phone. One of our library assistants will contact you at the end of each month for a list of materials you’d like. We will visit you on the first Monday of each month with your requests, and you can keep them for the whole month. No late fines! Feel free to take advantage of all our materials, (except reference) DVDs, videos, books on CD, music, magazines, paperback and hardcover books. This is a simple, friendly FREE service, please take advantage of it.

I would like to reserve the meeting room, what do I need to do?
The meeting room is available on a first come, first serve basis. We can reserve the space for your group meetings or conferences seats 40 people comfortably. We have chairs, 2 antique sofas, 2 large tables seating 10 each, as well as a podium, speaker system, 50″ wide screen television, DVD/VHS player, white movie screen and extention cords. The room is lit with chandliers and has many large windows for natural light. Please call for reservations during library hours.
